live music lake city co Michael Martin MurpheyMichael Martin Murphey - July 11, 2017

For the past four decades, Michael Martin Murphey has left an indelible mark on the American Music Landscape.  After a making a name for himself by writing hit songs for artists like The Monkees and Kenny Rogers & The First Edition, Murphey's move back to his homestate of Texas in the early 1970s helped pave the way for The Cosmic Cowboy Movement and the Outlaw Movement (led by Willie Nelson & Waylon Jennings).  Murphey went on to enjoy huge artistic success with pop hits like "Wildfire" and "Carolina in the Pines."  In the 1980s, he repeatedly topped the Country Charts with hits like "Long Line of Love," "What's Forever For," "I'm Gonna Miss You Girl" and more.  At the pinnacle of his country career, he changed his focus to Western Music, and with his 1990 Cowboy Songs, Volume I (featuring the hit song "Cowboy Logic"), and became the Number One Selling artist of American Cowboy Music. In 2009, he released Buckaroo Blue Grass, which was Grammy-nominated for Best Bluegrass Album.

live music lake city co Marty HaggardMarty Haggard - July 18, 2017

Marty was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. He is the oldest son of American music icon Merle Haggard, who Marty considers to be “the best country singer/songwriter ever”.
In 1979, Marty began touring with his own band, then in 1981 signed with Dimension Records and released the single “Charleston Cotton Mill”, which spent three weeks on the Hot Country Songs charts in 1981.
At his father’s request, Marty joined his dad’s road band, in which he sang harmony and played rhythm guitar, from 1982 to 1984.
In 1986, he signed with MTM Records and released “Trains Make Me Lonesome”, a song and video which garnered him a nomination as Best New Male Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music. Shortly after the awards show, Marty was injured in a car accident suffering a serious head injury, including memory loss, requiring four years of recovery.
In the early 90s, Marty signed with Critique/BMG and released the album “Borders and Boundaries”. The song and video of “Here in the Afterlife” was released, followed by “Amnesia”.
Marty has made multiple appearances on Nashville Now, Music City Tonight, Crook & Chase, The Today Show, and the Grand Ole Opry.
In 1999, Marty made a decision to share his life-long passion and love for Jesus Christ. He spent 10 years travelling to churches all across the country. He recorded the album “One Prayer Away” compiled of his original spiritual songs.
Marty’s love for his dad and his dad’s “real country” music inspired him to begin a project “A Tribute to Merle Haggard, My Dad”. In 2010, he cut the first album in his tribute, consisting of 15 Hag classics. In 2010/2011 he performed at the Oak Ridge Boy’s Theatre and Clay Cooper Theatre in Branson, Missouri. In 2011 he also recorded his second Tribute album to his dad. Marty has spent the last six years performing all over the United States and Canada, plus England, Ireland and Scotland. He also performs yearly in Casa Grande, Arizona at the Paramount Theatre.
He has recently recorded an album of his original songs titled “In America”.

live music lake city co Bellamy BrothersBellamy Brothers - August 1, 2017

Best-known for the easy rolling, '70s Southern soft rock classic "Let Your Love Flow," the Bellamy Brothers are the most successful duo in country music history, consistently climbing into the upper reaches of the Billboard country charts during the '80s. More than most acts of the late '70s and '80s, the Bellamys pushed the borders of country music, adding strong elements of rock, reggae, and even rap, racking up a string of Top Ten singles that ran into the early '90s, after which they remained a popular concert attraction.

Hit songs include “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” “Dancing Cowboys,” “Sugar Daddy,” “You Ain’t Just Whistlin’ Dixie,” “Lovers Live Longer,” “Do You Love As Good As You Look,” “Redneck Girl,” “For All The Wrong Reasons,” “I Love Her Mind,” “I Need More Of You,” “Old Hippie,” “Too Much Is Not Enough,” “Kids Of The Baby Boom,” and “Reggae Cowboy” and “Crazy From The Heart,”

Howard and David continue to prove that the trail they’ve ridden to fame has been as unique as their music itself—music that is now celebrating 40 years of success.

live music lake city co 05Suzy Bogguss - September 2, 2017

Every artist has a tipping point in their career where creativity, tenacity and talent align to produce something truly special, for Suzy Bogguss, that was Aces. Coming off her second album on Capitol Nashville, Aces was co-produced by Bogguss, a rare feat at the time, and released August 27, 1991. It certified Platinum and yielded four memorable Top 10 radio singles: “Outbound Plane,” “Someday Soon,” “Aces,” and “Letting Go.” To celebrate the 25th Anniversary Suzy has re-recorded Aces with some of Nashville’s top players in her latest offering, Aces Redux.

“I love to play the radio hits from Aces every night,” explains Suzy, “but in truth, every single song on that record gets requested at my live shows. So for the first time in awhile I went back and listened to the album start to finish. The songs are timeless, but over the past 25 years I feel like I’ve grown as a vocalist, and when we started recording Aces Redux I got so excited because these songs took on a whole new life that is more representative of who I am and what I do now."

Although the Platinum selling album propelled Suzy to new heights, her career did anything but plateau. One of the most diverse female artists in country music, she is a CMA, ACM, and ASCAP Award Winner. She recorded a duets album with the legendary Chet Atkins, made an album of modern swing music with Ray Benson of Asleep At The Wheel, and landed on the jazz charts with an original album Sweet Danger. In 2004 she added GRAMMY winner to her list of accolades for her work on Beautiful Dreamer: The Songs of Stephen Foster.
